Thursday Update #13: New Hardware

This week, I've got some work of a different kind to do. As the image shows, I got a new PC. I could've posted the new enemy, but I'm trying to save things to be discovered in the game and I didn't have to animate the computer. Skip this next paragraph to catch up on Blackwarden progress.
Until now, I've been making everything on a laptop. A nice, but old laptop. While it had some hardware limitations, I could work around them mostly fine until a fan started going out. The bearing is going out, a known problem with the model, and finding a replacement is not easy. So, instead of playing the guessing game of when it would burn out and I lose everything, I talked it over with the boss when I saw a decent deal pop up and went for the upgrade. A prefab tower, unfortunately, but if any of you know anything about the current state of trying to buy computer components, you'll probably understand why I didn't build it myself.
This week, I got the first tier of enemies completed. Bandit, Thief, and Archer went by very quickly, and then I got to the Falconer. That one took pretty much the whole week to do, for a few reasons:
He had the most movement of any model so far.
He had the most animations, coming in at 5 separate animations.
I had to learn how birds work.
I, of course, had to complicate things for myself (like giving a single enemy 5 animations), but hopefully all this self torture will translate well into the final product. Looking forward, I move on to tier 2 enemies, continuing to setup the new PC and learn it's quirks, possibly try to get some background stuff done so I can see/show the game in how it will be played. Keeping at the enemies makes the most sense, but we'll see how excited I get. See you next Thursday.
