Thursday Update #12: PC Animations finished!

Hey, it's finally done. After several months, the player animations for all 8 equipment sets are finished! It's very exciting, I can't wait to discover what I missed or messed up and have to go back to it. For now however, I say proudly and confidently, "Good enough!"


Now, I've moved on to enemy animations. There are 64 total models, varying from one to three animations each (not counting death animation, more on that later.) So far I have three done, which means my Bandit enemies are nearly complete. Participating in show and tell today is Melee Bandit, who's cloak makes me wonder why I gave any of my enemies flowy material.

Luckily, some of the animations are very simple, and some I can reuse later. For example, I have a couple archers and there's only so many ways little pixel guys can pull a bow. The death animation I made I'm going to use for all enemies, because it cuts my workload significantly. I made two versions of it so far using different colors, but I'm not sure if I'll use one or the other, or both for different enemy types.


At any rate, I feel a big step forward has been made and am motivated to get these assets done so I can make a little gameplay demo for you all to see. That won't be for awhile though. See you all next update.
