Thursday Update #11: Damage/Death Preview

An update on time for a change, sorry about missing last week. Though, to be fair, nothing much happened last week. Mostly working on a side art project unrelated to Blackwarden. This week, I'm happy to report the end of the character animations is in sight.


The jump-attack is pretty much finished, just needs some cleaning up; The jump-block is figured out, I just need to merge two layers together and clean it up; I decided the "Special" is going to have a particle effect on animation and didn't require a character animation, so that's a problem for later; The damage/death animation I think is done. Check out the GIF and let me know what you think. The skull will probably also have a particle effect to look flame-y, or I'll ditch the green altogether. Not sure yet.


Finishing up the character animations is just busy work now, hopefully it'll be completely finished by the next update. After that, I think I might work on enemy animations which will consist of an idle, attack, and death animation. Nothing too crazy, especially considering that I wont need to draw each enemy in four different parts like I did for the PC, and I wont need to draw the enemies in eight different suits of armor (nine if you count my naked model that I fit the other armor over for consistency.) They should get finished much, much, much quicker. Plus, I can be a little more loose with them if I want, though we'll see.
